Another day, another podcast story of sitting down with the distinguished guest, the third-generation owner of the Shahpura Group of Hotels. The interview was close to our hearts because we visited a vibrant city like Jaipur and had a personal conversation about the royal properties in hospitality. 


Shahpura Group's Hotel Legacy 


As the conversation moves ahead, we get back to the origins of Shahpura, a town that is naturally between Delhi and Jaipur. He discussed how the beginning of legacy would start, and how their family ended up in hospitality with a modest guest house in 1990, marking the inception of Shahpura hospitality. 


Growing up in the Hospitality Industry 


As Mr. Adhiraj takes us forward as he discusses how his grandfather's political journey and the family traditions of hospitality have been taken forward from having just three rooms to evolving into the first step of their hospitality venture, he shares that his childhood memories with his father were all about ranking rooms for only 18 to 200 rupees and now building a venture that people look up to.


"Hospitality is synonymous with "Atithi Devo Bhava." The industry values people and honors them, so I believe that hospitality cannot be taught; it is something inherited in your genes."


Legacy and Business Expansion


From the legacy of a royal family, the discussion seamlessly transitions into the expansion of Shahpura Hospitality. The family's decision to explore revenue-sharing lease models and venture beyond the borders of Rajasthan adds layers to their story. With a portfolio of 10 hotels, Shahpura aims to maintain a boutique touch while eyeing opportunities in Himachal Pradesh and even beyond India.


As Shahpura Hospitality contemplates these global ventures, the essence of their journey echoes—a commitment to preserving heritage while embracing the contemporary. The prospect of becoming an international brand positions Shahpura Hospitality on an exciting trajectory, promising a fusion of tradition and modernity in the global hospitality arena.


He shared that Dubai stands out as a potential location, with the family's keen eye on infusing a contemporary vibe, a departure from the heritage-focused properties dotting the Indian landscape.


Beyond Dubai, our discussion hints at more ambitious plans. Shahpura Hospitality is setting its sights on the vast potential of global markets, with a particular interest in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Saudi Arabia. This points towards Shahpura's bold aspirations to evolve into a recognized international brand.
